Charles Woody Jr. Owner of 146 Police Professionals. Charles Woody retired from the Binghamton Police Department in 2018 after a twenty-year career with fifteen of those as an Investigator. Charles spent time in his career engaging the community to build a stronger relationship between the department and the people he served and protected. Tasked at times to assist in recruiting efforts for the department, he was able to build his skills in identifying and working with potential candidates. His final five years were spent as the Field Intelligence Officer working out of the Crime Analysis Center, where he received his certification as a NYS Crime Analyst. Upon retiring, he relocated to Charlotte North Carolina, where he was a Training Supervisor for a major airline. After three years of retirement, he realized his time being part of the Law Enforcement Community was not over. Charles still had the desire to bring communities and Law Enforcement Agencies together. Since returning to New York in 2021 Charles has worked for two different Law Enforcement Agencies and has recruited and filled over fifty positions. He currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement and Recruiting for the Broome County Sheriffs Office. In 2021 Charles also started his consulting business to assist Law Enforcement Agencies with Cultural Diversity training as well as recruiting and retention issues. Currently He also serves as the Vice President for the Astor D. Rice Foundation, a not-for-profit organization working in the community and is the current Safety Chairman for the Binghamton Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors. “The key to a good relationship with the community starts with understanding the people who live in them and having a continuous dialog.”
